Best Glute Workout Apps for Women

Six apps compared on how they coach glute work, and what each one can actually prove you did.

12 of 15 reps FORM 92% Depth, tempo and control, scored live On device. No video leaves your phone.

Short answer

Butt Lift suits women who want reps counted and scored, not just a video to copy: the iPhone camera scores every rep on depth, tempo and control. Sweat is stronger on trainer-authored breadth.

Fitbod is stronger on loaded gym programming. Nike Training Club offers the largest free library. 30 Day Butt Challenge Pro suits simple home plans, and Booty Builder suits pure squat streaks.

The short version

  • Butt Lift uses the iPhone camera to count each rep and score it live on depth, tempo and control, with pose detection running on device and no video recorded, stored or uploaded.
  • Sweat, Fitbod, Nike Training Club, 30 Day Butt Challenge Pro and Booty Builder all rely on you self-reporting that a workout happened, and none of them verify how a rep was executed.
  • Butt Lift builds a 28 day plan from your onboarding answers on program, strength, weekly frequency, session length and focus areas, rather than issuing one fixed plan to everyone.
  • Fitbod is the stronger choice for barbell gym training with non-linear periodisation, and Sweat is the stronger choice for named-trainer progressive programmes.
  • Butt Lift is iPhone only and free to download, with a Butt Lift Pro subscription unlocking the full plan and no account required.

How to judge a glute app

Nearly every app here ships the same three things: a plan, a video, a tick box.

The difference that matters is whether anything checks the rep actually happened.

Then personalisation. A fixed 30 day challenge is not a plan built from your strength, schedule and joint history.

Then fit. Gym lifting, home bodyweight and a daily squat habit are three different jobs, and no single app here is strong at all three.

The six apps, and who each is genuinely for

Butt Lift counts reps with the camera and scores each one live on depth, tempo and control. Ten glute focused exercises, a 28 day plan built from onboarding, iPhone only.

Sweat is a trainer-authored library for women: named coaches, home and gym variants, a large community. Everything is self-tracked, and nothing about a rep is verified.

Fitbod suits gym lifting with the programming decided for you, using non-linear periodisation and weight recommendations.

Glutes are served indirectly via muscle targeting, and you log every set by hand.

Nike Training Club offers a large free video library, across strength, HIIT, yoga, pilates and recovery. It verifies attendance by trust, not execution.

30 Day Butt Challenge Pro hands you a ready-made no-equipment lower-body challenge, with reminders and a transformation tracker.

There is no verification layer at all.

Booty Builder is a free, ad-free four week squat challenge. Pick a total from 600 to 3000 and tick off daily milestones. One exercise, no video, no coach.

Butt Lift is free to download. Run one session and watch each rep get a live score on depth, tempo and control.

Why Butt Lift is different

It is built around personalised glute training with automatic rep counting and form scoring. The camera watches the set and scores every rep live.

Sloppy reps score lower and get flagged with a cue. A clean rep streak drives the combo, so execution is measured rather than self-reported.

Pose detection runs on device, and no video is recorded, stored or uploaded. Nothing leaves the phone, and no account is required.

The 28 day plan is built from your onboarding answers: program, strength, weekly frequency, session length and focus areas.

Three shape programs cover different goals: Lift & Sculpt for upper glute lift, V-Shape Builder for side glutes and waist, Full Curve for balanced all round shape.

Ten glute focused exercises run through it: glute bridge, hip thrust, squat, sumo squat, lunge, donkey kick, fire hydrant, curtsy lunge, single-leg bridge and step-up.

It adapts from bodyweight to bands and dumbbells, and reroutes around flagged knees, hips, lower back or wrists. Sessions run about 5 to 25 minutes.

The coach voice comes in three tones, Sweet, Sassy and Savage, with streaks and session ranks. It trains and measures. It promises no outcome.

How Butt Lift turns a movement into a counted rep: the camera reads body points on the phone, three checks score depth, tempo and control, and the rep is either counted towards the combo or scored lower with a form cue.

Where the rivals genuinely win

Sweat wins on breadth and named-trainer programming. If you want a progressive programme from a coach you recognise, plus a community layer, Butt Lift does not compete there.

Fitbod wins on loaded gym periodisation. If your training is barbells and progressive overload across a whole body split, its algorithm is the better tool.

Nike Training Club wins on free library size and modality range, across yoga, pilates, recovery and mindfulness at no cost.

Booty Builder wins if you want zero technology. A target, a streak, no upsell.

Which one to pick

Pick Butt Lift if you train alone and want to know a rep actually counted, on a plan shaped around your body and schedule.

Pick Sweat if you want a trainer's programme and are happy to self-track. Pick Fitbod if the gym is your setting and lifting heavy is the goal.

Pick Nike Training Club if budget is the constraint and variety matters more than glute specificity. Pick a challenge app if you just need a plan handed over.

The honest split: a video app for guidance, Butt Lift for measurement.

Butt Lift is free to download on iPhone with no account needed, and Butt Lift Pro unlocks the full 28 day plan built from your answers.

Questions people ask

Does Butt Lift record me while I train?

No. Pose detection runs on device and no video is recorded, stored or uploaded. Nothing leaves your iPhone, and you do not need an account.

Can you cheat the rep counter?

Half reps do not pay. Each rep is scored on depth, tempo and control, so a sloppy one scores lower and gets flagged with a cue instead of quietly counting.

Do I need equipment?

No. Butt Lift adapts from bodyweight to bands and dumbbells based on what you say you have in onboarding.

What if my knees or lower back are dodgy?

Flag them in onboarding. The app reroutes exercises around flagged knees, hips, lower back or wrists. It is training software, not medical advice, so check with a clinician if something hurts.

Is there an Android version of Butt Lift?

No. Butt Lift is iPhone only. On Android, Fitbod is a credible alternative for structured strength programming.

How long are the sessions, and can I train with sound off?

Sessions run about 5 to 25 minutes, chosen during onboarding.

The coach voice comes in three tones, Sweet, Sassy and Savage, and the rep scoring is on screen, so it still works with the volume down.
